R and R

Good evening and blessings from Costa Rica!
Our day started with a devotion from Dennis.  He shared 1 Peter 4:7-11.  This passage speaks about love and service to one another for the glory of God.  The passage encourages us to love one another fervently.  It tells us to use our talents, which were given to us by God, as good stewards of God.    Luke 22:27 reminds us that Jesus was here to serve God as well.  We should humbly serve God, because when we work and serve out of love for God and our brothers and sisters. we are living God.  We shouldn't be serving in order to draw attention to ourselves.  We do what we do out of service to God, and only He deserves all glory.  Amen?

Today we did some things old, and some things new.  Because it is Saturday, and a day when we don't typically work, the pastor's family and us loaded up the church van and took a trip to the beach.  You all have seen photos of our beach trips before, and heard us talk of the beautiful waters and scenery before.  This trip was to a different beach, no less beautiful and memorable.  What was different today was that on the way home from the beach, we stopped to visit one of the church members.  Margarita ( Mamita) has some land close to one of the beaches and it was a clean up day for her.  We stopped in for a visit and were blessed by her family and the opportunity to go "monkey hunting".  We found a large family of monkeys, took some photos and enjoyed spending some time with everyone.

I must say that it wouldn't be normal if someone in our crowd didn't have a slight accident of some sort...and today was no different.  Ashley took a slight stumble getting out of the van at Margarita's place.  We aren't sure the extent of her injury just yet, but she's hurt her foot and is hobbling around right now (made walking to eat dinner impossible for her, but we have connections so she did get a ride).  Keep her in your prayers please.

Tomorrow we are set to Skype with the congregation at the 8:30am service at Nashville United Methodist Church.  See you then!

As we say good night, and share a few photos from our day... please pray on how you can serve God.  Is He laying anything on your heart?  Is He calling you into action?  Is the Holy Spirit nagging you about anything?  If He is, remember..... serve with Love in your heart.  When you serve with the love of God......it shines through to everyone you meet.  You may be the only sunshine in that person's day.... you may be the only love they experience.  Glory to God!
