Clutter

What a beautiful day it is here.  I hope you are all experiencing many blessings today!

Our day began with a special devotion from Dawn.  She shared several passages, and I'll list those for you, but we're going to focus on one, I Cor 14:40, "and do everything in a decent and orderly manner."  What this means to me, and reminds me of, is that we need to remove the "clutter" from our lives and leave more room for God.  Like our houses, or closets, if we keep everything, and never get rid of anything, eventually we run out of space.  In order to have room for a new sofa or more shoes, or tools, we have to get rid of something.  It's the same with our hearts, minds, and spiritual lives.  If we fill ourselves with lots of clutter, we have less room for God.  Have you experienced that lately?  Do you find yourself stressed out about all you have to do, or are you consumed with thoughts and worries that have nothing to do with God?  If so, maybe it's time to do some spring, or winter, cleaning.  Maybe it's time to get rid of some clutter.  What do you think?  You know that rehashing or even rehearsing (thinking too much) your troubles causes you to go through them over and over when you are only intended to go through them once.  Worry about today, today.  Okay?  Okay.

We are asking for prayers for Pastor Carlos's father.   He is diabetic and had some surgery yesterday.  Carlos and his wife went to San Jose today to visit with him.  He needs our prayers for a quick recovery.

Today, Reid and Terri went back to Rigo's house to finish the painting.  Once Rigo rehangs his doors, his wife, two sons and himself will be able to move in.  Jason, Dennis and George continued working on the staircase, Rigo and Luis did some welding on the new storage building, and Dawn, Ashley and Kay finished up painting around the church.  It was a very productive day all around.  Tomorrow we will finish up as much as we can since it will be our last working day.  We ask that you continue to pray for safety no matter what we do.

Here are a few photos from our day.  God bless you all.  We will be home soon so enjoy all that snow, ice and cold before we get back.  We don't really want any, thank you very much.  :)

Scripture list for today: Jeremiah 29:11-13,  Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalms 52:8
