Early devotion from Dennis got our minds in order to begin our physical work here. Eccl. 4: 9-10 says; "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work. If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!!
This was a very fitting and appropriate scripture for what we are doing here in Costa Rica, and all over the world through mission work.
We started the morning with a wonderful meal (getting the idea now?.... we're very well fed while here at Fuenta de Gracia in Liberia) and afterwards, and a 2 mile power walk, we started the work. We hauled concrete pieces (broken up sidewalk)from one side of the property to the worksite. The object was to fill in as much of the new sidewalk area with rock so that less mixed concrete would be needed. At home, you all know we'd be buying tons and tons of ready mixed concrete, but here, where money is tight, you use the resources you have. There has been a pile of broken up concrete on the property for many years, waiting to God to tell us what to do with it.... nothing gets wasted, by the way. Anyway, after a morning of that, we stopped because we don't have the materials to do anything else. The guys went to order what we will need for next week, and the plan is to 1) pour a concrete sidewalk around the building 2) dig a drain for the kitchen area (involves jack hammer work) 3) erect steel framework for one wall 4) hang drywall , and I cannot even remember what else we have going on. It's gonna be a long week, full of hard work, but we are prepared and ready.
After lunch, of course, since it's the weekend and we couldn't do any more work..... we chose to go to the beach. We spent time fishing, walking, discussing tomorrows work, and just talking with each other. What a blessed day for all of us.....
We are off to eat dinner.... brick oven baked pizza!! Yep, I know you're all jealous! Good night friends, we love you, appreciate you, and will talk with you again soon.
