Our luggage arrived!!! AMEN! We got a call this morning from an agent at the airport who informed us that our luggage had been loaded onto the flight into Costa Rica and that it was en route.... and we actually got it! You can imagine our excitement and relief. Needless to say that tonight's shower was the best one in a long time.
Enough of that.
Today started out at 7:00am with a devotion from Jason Vinson. His scripture came from Isiah 12:2 - Trust in the Lord. This was extremely appropriate for our day as we started out with one plan for our work, and ended up with quite another.
We did accomplish a lot in the way of framing up the area for the concrete that we will pour on Monday. We installed quite a few support posts, and we have many more to go. In total, I think we will put up 108.
Tomorrow we will be heading to the beach for a little relaxation, AFTER we finish installing the support posts. It will be good to get a trip in early as we have a very long, hard week ahead of us. In our case, there will certainly be rest for the weary.
We attended church tonight, 2 hrs 30 minutes of God filled time with the congregation of this church, Fuente de Gracia. God is good folks..... all the time.
I have been praying for you all! Glad you got your luggage and a day at the beach. Remember sometimes a mission to build a church does not include block, mortar, and wood! God bless you all!
ReplyDeleteI just got home from a wonderful Church service and wanted to let you all know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many here at home. May God continue to protect and strengthen each of you as you allow him to use your hands and feet to show his love and to minister to the people you encounter.
ReplyDeleteIn His love,
Chris

I love the pictures. Definitely looks warmer there than here. I taught Children's Church today and we prayed for each of you. Today's lesson was from John 1:35 when John the Baptist looked over at Jesus walking by and said to two of his disciples, "Look there is the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world!" Immediately those two disciples left John the Baptist and following Jesus from that point on. I was struck by how they left all they knew behind to "Come and see" as Jesus told them. You all have said yes to a very important calling. You all left important and comfortable lives behind for a time to serve the Lord. Thank you for your willingness and individual and family sacrifices. May you know you are loved by your family back home. We are praying for you. Stay safe, have fun, spread the good news, work hard and come home safe. Hugs and kisses to all! Steph Lewis (as you guessed I don't have an account so I am using Brad's - insert your laugh at me here!)
ReplyDeleteThe pictures look great and we know you are doing God's work. We had our satellite Gathering Friday night and had 41 people attend. It was a great service and the mission team was lifted up twice. We know you will accomplish great things with God's help and we will continue to lift you in prayer.
