Great day to do rebar work

We woke this morning at 6:00am to check out the monkeys in the trees across the street.  There was a mama and a baby climbing around and it was just a treat to see them all.

Before breakfast, the morning devotion was given by Kay Coggins and the title was "Those that wander are not always lost".  Scripture references were from Hebrews 11:8-10 and Luke 18:18-30.

The ladies here are really feeding us well, so no worries there.  Some of us have to get used to all of the beans on the menu, but believe me, we're not starving!

We have been working all morning on framing more of the roof to prepare to pour concrete, and a lot of that work involves bending and tying rebar, and making these cute little 'concrete popsicles'.   Check out the photos and you'll see what I'm talking about.  We hope to have most of the prep work done today so we can finish up and get to pouring on Wednesday.  It's been tough in the sun, but what we have accomplished so far is pretty impressive.  The more this team works together, the better we get.  We may even hire out once we get home...

Got to get back to work or I might get fired.... oh, one more thing before I go.  Funny story.  The ladies who have been taking care of us here got a couple of the guys good today.   The water went out this morning, apparantely all over town, so we were without for a while.   Barry and Gary were taking a needed break about 11:00am and one of the ladies came out and told them that since we had no water, we would not have any lunch.  Neither of them speak or understand much spanish, but the girl does speak english.   They believed her (because why would this sweet looking girl lie to them....?)   Anyway, they got punked.  Those girls have a great sense of humor, and now it's a game, and they better look out....
Keep us all in your prayers folks.   Were hot, but we are staying hydrated.  We have a paramedic with us so he's watching out.  We're good cause God is good... all the time!!

  2. Hi Guys and Gals,
It really sounds like you are having a great trip. The pictures are breathtaking. I hope everything continues well and God's work will be completed. We're keeping you in our prayers. We wanted to share your comments and pictures at 8:30 Sunday but the projector switching box decided to quit working. It sounds like the people there really know how to worship God. We probably need some more lessons. Praise God in all that we do!!!
