Good evening everyone. I hope that your Sunday has been a blessing to you. Ours has certainly been for us.
This morning Jason gave the devotion and his message was quite simple... Allow God our Father to take care of your troubles. We do not have to waste time worrying about tomorrow, when we have today. We are to allow God to be 'fixer' or champion of our troubles. If we give them to Him, and allow Him to do what he promised He would do, how much happier and more content and less stressed our lives would be!! Hallelujah
Following breakfast and our morning devotion, we attended a very powerful service. Of course, if you've read this blog in the past, you already know that church here is not the typical service. We attend from 9:00am until after lunch. This morning, there were several personal testimonies, and although we don't speak Spanish, we understood that each of the people talking experienced something very powerful. We enjoyed wonderful music and the service was translated for us. Music was also translated so that we could follow and sing along. During the service, Terri was able to visit the children's Sunday school classes and share some friendship bracelets that her grandsons made for the children of the church. She gave each of the children one for themselves, and one to give to a friend who does not attend church. I wish I could show you the photos so that you could see the beautiful faces, but unfortunately, that feature of this blog is not working this year.
Pastor Carlos was very animated today, and was very passionate about his message to us. His message was for God's people to accept His call. In Luke, Jesus tells the parable of the fig tree and bearing fruit. We are called to bear fruit, to be diciples, to share God's word. We are to step out from under the fig tree and follow God. He knows us and has known us and our gifts since before we were born. We all have them, it's up to us to develop and acknowledge them. God will never be quite once we accept Him and begin to follow Him. He will always talk to us and guide our paths.
After services, we all loaded up the van for a pleasant trip to one of them many local beaches. We shared some soul filling laughter, and really enjoyed our relaxing time together as a team. I feel like this team is bonding quite well. We have two new members this year, but you wouldn't know they had not been with us before by the way everyone has come together as brothers and sisters in Christ. It is a blessing to say the very least.
It has been a very long weekend and we have quite a bit of work to get back to in the morning. With this our team wishes you God's love and peace.
