This is the day that the Lord had made.... and we rejoice!!

Morning came early, but guess what...... we finished the concrete!!!   We started at 5:30am and even though the muscles were very sore, we got straight to work.   (Aleve works wonders!) Since we started with work so early, we'll have devotion later today.

Last night Carlos explained to the congregation, during the service, that we had run out of concrete and the team had spent all the money we had.  He appealed to show up today to help work, and help to buy concrete.  He also told the congregation that the team had put up some of their own money to finish the job.  Early this morning, some of the same people that were here yesterday to help, came out again today.    In addition to those same people, at least 8-10 adults more, plus a 10 year old boy came to help.  One man even pulled up with a bag of concrete in the back of his truck.   People here love their church and are willing to give whatever they have to see it grow.   GOD HAS BEEN GOOD TO US ON THIS TRIP!!!!

The ladies outdid themselves for lunch today.  We were well fed and we are all very happy that the mixing and pouring is over.   Chris stayed on the roof smoothing the concrete until it was finished and now we're all sitting around talking and enjoying the shade tree.

This trip has been so good for so many reasons.  We have worked hard, but we have formed friendships with our brothers and sisters here in Costa Rica that will last a lifetime. Nothing could replace that.  The pastor here has been with this congregation since the church began, and he plans to be here as long as he can be.  He's got big plans and vision for this church folks, and we could learn a lot from his enthusiasm for God.

Ashley Vinson gave an evening devotion titled "Here I am Lord.....Send ME".  Scripture references were from Phillippeans 3:12; Isiah 6:18; Joshua 13:1; Phillippeans 1:9; 1 Corinthians 2:9; and 2 Peter 1:5-7.

We are so thankful that God has put us in this place, that when He called us, we listened.

  1. It is amazing to see how God is not only using you as a blessing but also blessing you! I'm glad to see that you are taking time to relax while you are there. When you guys get back we can look at doing my drive way. (it is only 1/8 of a mile:) We love you and can't wait to hear the stories of God's work.
