That is exactly what we have been sent to do..... perform a service AND to carry on an activity. We are here to serve God and the people of la Iglesia Methodista Fuenta de Gracia. Our work will officially begin tomorrow. We will be working in multiple areas of the church. We will clean up and clean out the old kitchen.... we will do some sheetrock work and some ceiling work in the new addition to the building. We'll paint and we'll fellowship. We will build new relationships and strengthen relationships we already have. But more than anything else, we will serve our Lord in the way He has called us to.
Tonight we all participated in a prayer circle where we layed hands on, and prayed for, each member of the team. Prayer is a powerful thing. We pray with expectations that ours will be answered. We expect God to be with us and we expect others to be blessed by our work. The reason we expect this is because we know that God is why we are here, and we know that God's work is being done here..... not our own.
It was a blessing to have the team all arrive on time, without incident and safe. There were no delays and no problems.
Please pray for our friend Mary Lou, who was unable to join us this year. She is home with her family and we lift their situation to the Lord. We pray for Scott's health and for both of their healing.
Thank you to all of those who came out to see our team off at 4:00am today. We love you and we thank you for your prayers and support.
We lift Patrick and Ashley up as they will be traveling to join us on Monday. We pray that their trip will be as uneventful as the rest of the team's was.
Lord, hear our prayers for our brother, friend and teammate, George. George has some kind of stomach bug so we ask your healing hands on him. He is here to do Your work Lord, so we ask that the bug last only one day, let him feel better in the morning and let him be able to join us at full strength.
Lord, thank you for Dronald and Shirley. We are so blessed to have Dronald as our project manager and our contractor again this year, and we thank you for his wife who has traveled here to be with him as they both serve You.
We have our work cut out for us..... here are some 'before' photos of our project......
We want our families to know we are safe and in good hands. We have been well fed and we have clean beds to sleep on tonight. We are being prayed for so we know that we will be blessed. Our team is exhausted from the travels and the day... so we are off to bed.
I leave you with this
Mark 11:24 - Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Good night friends..... peace be with you.
Hey friends! I am glad to hear you had an "uneventful" trip. I can't wait to see some pictures of the great work you have done today.
